Hilliard Invitational Recap

The students had an outstanding performance at the Hilliard Invitational this Saturday, earning Superior Ratings from every adjudicator! We’re very proud of the students, especially as they fought through the wind to earn that Superior Rating.

Additionally, thank you to the many, many volunteers who helped make the Invitational a success! We had parents involved in all aspects of the event, including parking, warm-up areas, T-shirts, programs, announcing, working the gates, hospitality, field set-up, concessions, and stadium clean-up.

That’s in addition to morning concessions and the usual uniform and pit crew parents. Once again, thanks to everyone who turned out to set-up props during our rehearsal and to help us perform with them in the evening.

Senior Night and New Philadelphia Contest

Next week marks our final home game of the 2017 season and we will be honoring our senior band members and their parents at halftime! On Saturday we will be travelling to New Philadelphia for the final local competition of the year. The contest start time has been moved back 30 minutes, so our new performance time will be 8:00p. Expect a report time around 1p.

OMEA State Marching Band Finals

As you know, the students earned Superior Ratings at their first two competitions, qualifying them to perform at OMEA State Marching Band Finals at Darby on October 28th.

Our tentative performance time at State Finals is 8:00p.

Please refer to the Booster Bytes below for information regarding volunteer opportunities for OMEA State Marching Band Finals. We are holding it at Darby for the first time ever and it is vital that we make this event a success! We would like to continue our relationship with SMBF for a long time.

Hosting SMBF provides several important benefits:

  • Saving all three schools a potential drive of up to 2 hours to perform at a different site.
  • Saving all three schools a potential drive of up to 2 hours to perform at a different site.
  • Saving the district money on transportation costs.
  • Providing us with a unique fundraising opportunity.
  • Giving our seniors the opportunity to have their final performance in our home stadium!

Thank you in advance for helping to make SMBF a great event for Hilliard!

Quick Bytes

We have a few requests for donations of fresh fruit and bottled water to take with us for the students this weekend for the double header.  What we are looking for is contained in the sign up genius below. We would like to collect the donations on Friday in preparation for Saturday.

The State Marching Band Finals will be held on Saturday October 28th at Hilliard Darby.  This new location is going to require us to increase our volunteer participation as we will be sharing all parking and concessions proceeds from the event across the 3 Hilliard Music Booster organizations.  The event runs from early morning until after 10pm so we will need to have about 50 volunteers from Darby to cover our allotted spots.  This event has the opportunity to yield a great deal of money to support our music programs and your help will be invaluable in making it successful.  A sign up genius will be made available in the coming week.  Please mark your calendars!

Place your order and it will be ready in no time flat! What we have in stock is listed!!!!

To keep the lines of communication open, I am starting an FAQ that I will share in the Booster Bytes communications going forward.  Please feel free to ask me anything!  Send your questions to soccergirl021@gmail.com.
